Phoebe, also known as Qiu Yunzhi, is a Taiwanese girl currently residing in Shenzhen.

She has many labels on her: a graduate student in sexology, a "sexology" clinic, a sex toy consultant, and an "experienced driver". Behind her seemingly bold appearance is her three-year commitment to sex education.

In 2016, Phoebe was admitted to Taiwan Shude University of Science and Technology to study human sexuality. At the only sexology research institute in Asia, she received professional sexology education, watched the bold and sexually charged educational materials, and gave mandatory sex education lectures to her colleagues around her.

Human sexology employment is mainly divided into three directions: sex education, sex counseling, and sex therapy. Under the influence of the professor, Phoebe chose to make "sex education" her lifelong career direction.

So, after graduating in 2020, she came to Hangzhou and began to officially engage in sex education work. In the "Happiness Clinic" of a postpartum rehabilitation center, as the only therapist, she provides sexual counseling services for a more niche and segmented group - postpartum mothers. At the same time, she began to explain family sex education to parents at the Hangzhou Library and early education institutions.

Considering the limited number of people affected by offline work, a year and a half ago, she went to the Internet under the nickname of "Phoebe Old Driver", and successively released popular science sex education videos on the video platform dominated by Station B. Up to now, the number of broadcasts has exceeded 5 million, there are 7 online communities, and she has started to operate paid courses.

This year, she joined the female sex toy company "Adult Candy" as a "sex consultant", developing sex education courses externally and conducting sex education training internally, attempting to lead this industry towards sunshine and specialization. In July, they launched an 11 day women's sex toy flash sale event at the Shenzhen mall, where they openly discussed "sex" with 7000 viewers.

On September 12th, I contacted Phoebe and talked to her about the changes she has seen in Chinese sexual attitudes, sex education, and the sex industry over the past three years.

Phoebe said, "Sex education should be a compulsory course in life. The education industry itself is a bittersweet thing, so even in the past three years, it is difficult to see a qualitative change

She used to argue with people who didn't receive sex education, but now she realizes that helping those who are willing to receive sex education is more important.

Sex education workers need to maintain neutrality and objectivity, so Phoebe does not like the practice of gender opposition, which will deepen the difficulty of education. Sex education itself is aimed at promoting gender interaction and encouraging diversity.
